Today the Traditional Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Basil the Great, Bishop, Confessor. He was one of the four great Doctors of the East, he was born at Cappadocia in Asia Minor. Saint Basil became a monk and combatted the the Arian heresy with great zeal. He wrote the famous Basilian rule of monasticism and framed the Basilian rule of monasticism and framed the Basilian Liturgy. He faithfully pasted away in the year 379.
