Today the Traditional Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Ephrem the Syrian, Deacon, Confessor. From Nisibis in Mesopotamia, he was cast forth from his home by his father, who was a pagan priest. He lived as a hermit, but then was later ordained a Deacon of Edessa and became renowned as a poet, orator, and holy monk. He faithfully pasted away in the year 373.
