Today the traditional Catholic Church also celebrates a Mass in honor of, the Seven Sorrows Of The Blessed Virgin Mary. On the Friday before Palm Sunday and on September 15th the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary are commemorated in the Catholic liturgy. The Sorrowful Mother of God has always merited within the Catholic Church a particular truth, from whence She is called "Queen of Martyrs" also "Comforter of the Afflicted." This most Holy feast was extended throughout the whole world by Pius VIII.
