Today the traditional Catholic Church has a Mass in honor of, the most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, true tradition teaches us that the Mother of God appeared to Saint Dominic, and asked him to propagate the devotion of the Holy Rosary as a powerful means of combating errors and vice. The decisive victory of the Christians at the battle of Lepanto in 1571 prompted Pius V to institute this Feast day and to decree that the Blessed Virgin Mary be invoked as Help of Christians.
