What are the Ember days?

The Catholic church instituted these days to thank God, each season of the year, for the benefits received during that season, and to remind the faithful, each quarter of the year, of duty of penance; also to pray to God for deserving priest, for on those days the ordination of priest usually takes place.

Today the traditional Catholic Church celebrates the Mass of, Ember Wednesday In Lent. Today's Mass lesson for traditional Catholics; Ps. 24, 6. 3. 22. Remember, O Lord, Thy bowels of compassion, and Thy mercies, that are from the beginning of the world; lest at any time our enemies rule over us; deliver us oh God of Israel, from all our necessities. Ps. 24, 1-2. To Thee O Lord, have I lifted up my soul; in Thee O my God, I put my trust; let me not be ashamed. The Catholic priest lesson saying the mass my differ from this.
