Description
"The Lord ... clothed him with a robe of glory."
Today the Traditional Catholic Church, also celebrates the Feast of, Saint Joseph, Foster Father Of Jesus, Spouse Of The Blessed Virgin Mary, Confessor: Saint Joseph, in Holy Scriptures, and the Catholic Church, is called a just man, "MEANING PERFECT HOLY MAN". He is innocent and pure, He is gentle and tender, He is prudent and a lover of silence, above all, He is faithful and and obedient to divine calls. Devotion to Saint Joseph has developed amongst Christian people in so marvelous a manner, following such wonderful laws, that it is impossible not to recognize therein the working of Divine Providence. In the the early Church the festivals were such as referred to the mystery of the salvation of the world. The golden period of devotion to Virgin Mary comes with Council of Ephesus. Second only to Blessed Virgin Mary, comes Saint Joseph who although not the Father of Jesus, had a father's authority over Him. He was invested with this authority, by the Eternal Father "GOD". The commands of God, to the Holy Family were delivered by, the Angel Gabriel, to Saint Joseph. During the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Centuries devotion to him grew rapidly, fostered by Saint Bridget of Sweden, and Saint Bernardine of Sienna. Pius IX declared Saint Joseph, "Patron of the Universal Church."
Since the end of the 15th century, this feast was kept on March 19Th and Gregory XV extended it to the whole Church in 1621. In 1870, Pius IX proclaimed Saint Joseph Patron of the Universal Church. Most people don't know this, but after the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother Of God, Saint Joseph, is the next highest Saint in Heaven!
"If the Feast of Saint Joseph falls in Holy Week, it is celebrated on the Tuesday after Low Sunday."
