Full of faith he said, "God loves nothing better in this world than the liberty of His Church." Pope Leo XIII on his death bed composed some verses in honor of Saint Anselm and caused them to be sent at once to the great basilica adjoining the university college of the Benedictine Order, which had been built under this Pontiff, he is called the Father of Scholastic Theology.
